Smt. Savitridevi Sinha in the memory of  her husband Dr. H. N. Sinha established an Arts & Commerce College of patur under the Berar Education Society in 1966 for the educational development of the student from this area. Dr. H. N. Sinha was also a Lechrer with the speciality in History subject Also he was principal at the Moris College, Nagpur. Dr. Sinha was very helpful to wards the local Berar education society also he donated many things with free hand to the society. There fore in the memory of this daynamic person his have is given to the college.

At the time of establishment there were 92 for Arts & 45 for commerce jtream J.S.Murti was the first principals was later to the principal Dady Deshmukh took the great effort for the jame It is one of the rural college rnn by the Shivaji Society. Student from 29 villege adjoimg patur tahsil come to this college for education. These villages are located in the hilly area so most of the jmdewn of the college bdongs to B.C. & minority community. They come here daily from their villages.
